14 REASONS 2014 WAS SO GREAT

1. MITT ROMNEY CAME AND SPOKE AT BYU CAMPUS 

and it was pretty cool. Mostly because I was in the same room as Mitt Romney. Haven't watched it yet? Here you go. 

2. I WENT HOME FOR THANKSGIVING

for the first time since I started college. It was fabulous. Also, it was super warm.

(The only picture I took over Thanksgiving
was of this novelty: wearing shorts outside
and not losing my legs to frostbite.)

3. TAYLOR SWIFT MADE THIS VIDEO AND I FELL IN LOVE 

       

4. AND THEN SHE MADE THIS VIDEO AND I LOVED HER EVEN MORE

Seriously, it's so weird. How could you not love it?

5. And to wrap up my my first TSwift binge in quite a few years, I FOUND THIS BLOG.

It’s my new, not-so-secret addiction. Go ahead, judge me. But first, read a few posts and you will get it (or maybe you won't, in which case I'm sorry for wasting your time). 

6. I MOVED INTO AN APARTMENT WITH A WASHER AND DRYER.

Don't have to drag my giant laundry bag through the snow? Don't need to save all my quarters? Mind blown. 

7. MY SELFIE GAME WAS ON POINT

8. I DISCOVERED THE EIGHTIES (More specifically, the music of the 80s)

and I can’t go back.

9. SOME PRETTY COOL PEOPLE CAME TO VISIT ME

Their visits made being away totally bearable.

10. MOCKING JAY: PART 1 CAME OUT and I cried 3 times.

So much emotion. Some laughs. So good. I personally think that Jennifer Lawrence is a much better actress than when she started the Hunger Games and she just shines in this movie. Also, I love Haymitch as much as I ever did, which is a lot. And Effie. And Gale. Seriously, go see it. 

And then (but NOT before seeing the movie) listen to this song again because it gives me chills every time.

11. SOME NURSING NEWS that I will wrap into one bullet point...

*I spent my first semester doing clinical rotations in the hospital and it was pretty great.

*I found out that I actually like doing research (words I never thought I would say)

*I’m going to be doing clinicals at Primary Children’s Hospital next semester and I am SO excited about it.

*I’m going to the Czech Republic next summer! I’m going be on a study abroad through the nursing program, so I’ll be working in the hospitals there and will be participating in some public health programs as well. I am so psyched.

12. GENERAL CONFERENCE HAPPENED

Twice. My favorite four days of the year.

13. CHIPOTLE IS COMING TO PROVO



'Nuff said.

14. THE WEATHER IN PROVO IS UNSEASONABLY WARM and I am not complaining.

I am also trying to quell my inner superstitious-self as I type this. Hopefully I am not jinxing the weather by commenting on it.
